Welcome to Asha for Education!
We are delighted to be an Asha for Education local chapter in Pittsburgh and cannot wait to get more volunteers involved! Our board members are a group of students who are passionate about education and the cause that Asha supports. Education is critical to socio-economic change and Asha for Education is dedicated to creating that change in India by providing basic education to underprivileged children.
Events held at Asha chapters, such as our Pittsburgh one, are targeted not only for fundraising, but also to raise awareness about issues of socio-economic inequity in India. We have awareness events where we show documentaries, discuss the social and political environment of India, and collaborate on possible fundraising ideas. Our main goal is to not only raise money for Asha so we can donate the funds to the project/school in India, but to also make people aware of what really is going on behind India’s education crisis.
